Commercial Job Title: Network Technician
Minimum / General Experience: Three years experience supporting a routed/switched multi-protocol network; skilled in writing process scripts; must be proficient with Microsoft networking concepts
Functional Responsibility: Monitors network using provided tools to ensure proper operation and security; prepares and maintains necessary network documentation which includes, but is not limited to, configuration information, physical diagrams, logical diagrams, cross-connect tables, baseline traffic tables, and disaster recovery procedures; works with other IT staff in solving performance and connectivity problems; designs and coordinates changes to the network infrastructure; stays current on router and other networking device updates and operation recommendations to keep network tuned and available
Minimum Education: 2-year degree in a technical discipline and an intimate knowledge of network concepts
Commercial Job Title: Systems Technician
Minimum / General Experience: Three years experience supporting a complex network of computer systems using Windows and/or Unix-based operating systems; skilled in writing process scripts; must be proficient with Microsoft, LINUX, or Unix networking concepts
Functional Responsibility: Monitors networked computers using provided tools to ensure proper operation and security; prepares and maintains necessary system documentation which includes, but is not limited to, configuration information, physical diagrams, logical diagrams, baseline performance tables, and disaster recovery procedures; works with other IT staff in solving performance and connectivity problems; designs and coordinates changes to the computer systems infrastructure; stays current on operating system updates, patches, and operation recommendations to keep computers tuned and available

Commercial Job Title: Web Technician
Minimum / General Experience: Three years experience working with Internet technology; skilled in writing server process scripts; must be proficient with Microsoft, LINUX, or Unix-based web servers
Functional Responsibility: Monitors and maintains world wide web systems and software using provided tools to ensure proper operation and security; prepares and maintains necessary system documentation which includes, but is not limited to, configuration information, physical diagrams, logical diagrams, baseline performance tables, and disaster recovery procedures; works with other IT staff in solving performance and connectivity problems; designs and coordinates changes to the web servers; provides technical assistance leading to resolution of customer problems and concerns. Ascertains need for services, identifies problems, determines basis of complaints and other matters of concern from the user community and recommends practical and rational improvements; carries out other assignments in furtherance of customer relations
Minimum Education: 2-year degree in a technical discipline and an intimate knowledge of Internet applications and hosting services
Commercial Job Title: Associate Network Engineer
Minimum / General Experience: Five years of general experience in data communications and networking including two years of demonstrated specialized experience; supervises up to five other engineers; designs routed/switched multi-protocol network; skilled in writing process scripts; proficient with Cisco (CCNA) or similar network infrastructures
Functional Responsibility: In addition to description of Network Technician - prepares and maintains necessary network documentation which includes, but is not limited to, configuration information, physical diagrams, logical diagrams, cross-connect tables, baseline traffic tables, and disaster recovery procedures; works with other IT staff in solving performance and connectivity problems; designs and coordinates changes to the network infrastructure; stays current on router and other networking device updates and operation recommendations to keep network tuned and available; assists in preparing scenario for workload simulation; evaluates network performance under various load/stress levels and identifies areas to be redesigned if necessary; assists in conducting performance evaluations under workload conditions, and recommends any necessary corrective actions, assists in evaluating capacity of LAN's and engineering and planning activities for future requirements
And/Or: Monitors data communications network to ensure that network is available to all system users and resolves data communications problems; first level telephone support in resolving data communications problems; monitors modems and display screen of terminal to mainframe computer to detect error messages that signal malfunction in communications software or hardware, trains staff and users to use equipment

Functional Responsibility: In addition to description of System Technician - analyzes complex systems and subsystems to enhance overall system operations, gathers information from users, defines work problems, assists in the design of system or computer programs, and implements procedures to resolve the problems. Assists in the development of specifications to enable computer programmers to prepare required programs, analyzes method of approach, analyzes data, prepares findings, compares alternatives, prepares specifications for programs and orients users to new systems

Functional Responsibility: Develops program specifications for application software development under general supervision; defines program logic, performs coding, tests and debugs programs; prepares system and program specifications and documentation including report formatting and design, record layouts, screen layouts and algorithms; implements modifications to existing systems; documents program and system logic; defines and designs data capture forms, data conversion procedures, data validation/correction steps and database definition tables
